Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
लङ्घयित्वा महातोयमापगापतिमव्ययम् ।
उपयानं समुद्रस्य सागरस्य च दर्शनम् ॥६-१२८-८॥
laṅghayitvā mahātoyamāpagāpatimavyayam |
upayānaṃ samudrasya sāgarasya ca darśanam ॥6-128-8॥
Translation
Tell him about crossing the great water, the imperishable lord of rivers (ocean), the arrival at the ocean, and the appearance of the Sea God.
हिंदी अनुवाद
महान जल वाले अविनाशी नदराज (समुद्र) को लांघने, समुद्र के तट पर पहुँचने और सागर दर्शन (सेतु निर्माण हेतु) की बात बताना।
English Commentary
The crossing of the ocean was the turning point of the war. Shri Rama wants Bharata to know about the monumental effort involved, including the 'darshanam' (sight/vision) of the Ocean God, which refers to the episode where the Ocean God appeared to guide Shri Rama on building the bridge.

सागर को पार करना और उस पर सेतु बनाना इस युद्ध की सबसे अद्भुत घटनाओं में से एक था। 'आपगापतिम्' (नदियों के स्वामी) शब्द समुद्र की विशालता को दर्शाता है। सागर दर्शन का संदर्भ यहाँ समुद्र से मार्ग मांगने और उसकी शरण लेने की घटना से है। यह श्री राम के पराक्रम और देवत्व का परिचय भरत को कराएगा।
