Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
चरणाभ्यां नरेन्द्रस्य योजयामास धर्मवित् ।
अब्रवीच्च तदा रामं भरतः स कृताञ्जलिः ॥६-१३०-५३॥
caraṇābhyāṃ narendrasya yojayāmāsa dharmavit |
abravīcca tadā rāmaṃ bharataḥ sa kṛtāñjaliḥ ॥6-130-53॥
Translation
The knower of Dharma (Bharata) personally fitted those sandals onto the feet of the King (Shri Rama). Then, with folded hands, Bharata spoke to Shri Rama.
हिंदी अनुवाद
धर्मज्ञ भरत ने राजा (श्री राम) के पैरों में (वे पादुकाएं) स्वयं पहना दीं। और तब हाथ जोड़कर भरत ने श्री राम से कहा।
English Commentary
This completes the cycle of the 'Paduka-Pattabhisheka'. Bharata personally places the sandals back on Shri Rama's feet, symbolizing the restoration of authority. Being a 'Dharmavit', Bharata knows that the highest Dharma is returning the trust to its rightful owner. It is a historic moment of power transfer achieved not through bloodshed, but through supreme love and renunciation.

यह 'पादुका-पट्टाभिषेक' की पूर्णता है। १४ वर्ष पहले जो पादुकाएं ली थीं, आज भरत ने उन्हें अपने हाथों से श्री राम को पहना दिया। 'धर्मवित' (धर्म को जानने वाला) विशेषण बताता है कि राज्य को उसके स्वामी को लौटाना ही सबसे बड़ा धर्म था। यह एक ऐतिहासिक क्षण है जहाँ सत्ता का हस्तांतरण बिना किसी रक्तपात के, केवल प्रेम और त्याग के माध्यम से हो रहा है।
