English Commentary
Bharata was not just an ascetic but an efficient administrator. He presents a 'balance sheet' to Shri Rama—the treasury, army, and granaries have increased 'tenfold'. Uniquely, he attributes this success to Shri Rama's 'tejas' (brilliance). This proves that spirituality and material progress are not mutually exclusive; a detached Karma Yogi like Bharata can govern better than a ruler attached to power.
