Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
विनायकाश्च शाम्यन्ति गृहे तिष्ठन्ति यस्य वै ।
विजयेत महीं राजा प्रवासी स्वस्तिमान् व्रजेत् ॥६-१३१-११५॥
vināyakāśca śāmyanti gṛhe tiṣṭhanti yasya vai |
vijayeta mahīṃ rājā pravāsī svastimān vrajet ॥6-131-115॥
Translation
All obstacles are pacified in the house where this Ramayana resides. A king conquers the earth, and a traveler returns safely.

जिसके घर में यह श्री रामायण का ग्रंथ रहता है, उसके सभी विघ्न (विनायक) शांत हो जाते हैं। राजा पृथ्वी को जीतता है और यात्री सकुशल अपनी यात्रा पूरी करता है।
English Commentary
'Vinayakas' here refer to the impediments that block human progress. The presence of the Ramayana in a home implies not just the physical book, but the residence of its ideals. This scripture acts like an impenetrable protective shield both within the home and during travels.
