हा राजन् सुकुमारं ते सुभ्रु सुत्वक् सुसूक्ष्ममम् ।
कान्तिश्रीद्युतिभिर्युक्तं दीप्तपावकवर्चसैः ॥६-११४-३५॥
hā rājan sukumāraṃ te subhru sutvak susūkṣmamam |
kāntiśrīdyutibhiryuktaṃ dīptapāvakavarcasaiḥ ॥6-114-35॥
Translation
Alas, O King! Your body was delicate, with beautiful eyebrows, fine skin, and very smooth; endowed with loveliness, grace, and splendor, shining like a blazing fire.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हा राजन्! आपका शरीर सुकुमार, सुंदर भौंहों वाला, सुंदर त्वचा वाला और अत्यंत कोमल था; जो कांति, शोभा और चमक से युक्त तथा प्रज्वलित अग्नि के समान तेजस्वी था।
English Commentary
Mandodari reminisces about Ravana's physical beauty—his fine skin, eyebrows, and fiery aura (dipta-pavaka). Ravana was not a grotesque monster in appearance but a majestic king. This eulogy serves to heighten the pathos; the beautiful, delicate vessel of power now lies ruined. It reminds us that death pays no heed to physical perfection or royal bearing.

मन्दोदरी अब रावण के मृत शरीर को देखकर उसके जीवित रूप को याद करती हैं। रावण केवल क्रूर नहीं, अत्यंत रूपवान भी था। उसका व्यक्तित्व चुंबकीय और तेजस्वी ('दीप्तपावक') था। मृत्यु ने उस सुंदरता को कैसे नष्ट कर दिया, यह देखकर मन्दोदरी का हृदय टूट रहा है। यह शारीरिक नश्वरता का करुण वर्णन है।
