Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
भविष्यन्ति सदानन्दाः पुत्रपौत्रसमन्विताः ।
श्रुत्वा रामायणमिदं दीर्घमायुश्च विन्दति ॥६-१३१-१११॥
bhaviṣyanti sadānandāḥ putrapautrasamanvitāḥ |
śrutvā rāmāyaṇamidaṃ dīrghamāyuśca vindati ॥6-131-111॥
Translation
They shall remain ever-joyful and be endowed with sons and grandsons. By hearing this Ramayana, one attains a long life.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे स्त्रियाँ सदा आनंदित रहेंगी और पुत्र-पौत्रों से युक्त होंगी। इस श्री रामायण को सुनकर मनुष्य दीर्घायु प्राप्त करता है।
English Commentary
Offspring and longevity were considered the greatest assets in ancient times. The word 'Sadanandah' suggests not just fleeting pleasure but the boon of lasting mental peace. The teachings of the Ramayana free a person from anxiety, which naturally leads to a longer life.

संतान और दीर्घायु को प्राचीन समय में जीवन की सबसे बड़ी पूंजी माना जाता था। 'सदानन्दाः' शब्द यह बताता है कि यह केवल क्षणिक सुख नहीं, बल्कि मानसिक संतुष्टि का वरदान है। श्री रामायण की शिक्षाएँ मनुष्य को चिंतामुक्त करती हैं, जिससे आयु में स्वतः ही वृद्धि होती है।
