Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
देवाश्च सर्वे तुष्यन्ति ग्रहणाच्छ्रवणात्तथा ।
रामायणस्य श्रवणात्तुष्यन्ति पितरस्तथा ॥६-१३१-१२३॥
devāśca sarvē tuṣyanti grahaṇācchravaṇāttathā |
rāmāyaṇasya śravaṇāt tuṣyanti pitarastathā ॥6-131-123॥
Translation
By accepting and hearing the Ramayana, all the Gods are satisfied, and by its listening, the ancestors (Pitris) are also highly pleased.

श्री रामायण के ग्रहण और श्रवण से सभी देवता प्रसन्न होते हैं, और इसके श्रवण से पितृगण भी अत्यंत तृप्त होते हैं।
English Commentary
Hearing the Ramayana is considered a means of deliverance not just for the living but also for the ancestors. This scripture is like a bridge that transmits positive energy across different realms. Listening to it is akin to a 'Yajna' whose offerings satisfy the entire subtle and unseen world.
