English Commentary
Rama expresses a desire not just to meet, but to 'serve' ('śuśrūṣeyam') Agastya. In the Vedic tradition, true knowledge and power are transmitted only through service (Seva) to the Guru. Rama's willingness to personally ('svayam') serve, despite his royal status, highlights his adherence to the code of conduct for a disciple. Sutikshna acts as the witness to this humility. The juxtaposition of Rama's warrior might with this submissive attitude validates his title as 'dharmātman' (righteous soul).

राम की विनम्रता यहाँ चरम पर है। वे अयोध्या के राजकुमार होते हुए भी ऋषि की 'शुश्रूषा' (सेवा) करने की कामना कर रहे हैं। भारतीय परंपरा में, विद्या या अस्त्र प्राप्त करने के लिए गुरु की सेवा करना पहली शर्त है। राम 'स्वयम्' (स्वयं) सेवा करना चाहते हैं, न कि सेवकों द्वारा। सुतीक्ष्ण मुनि के लिए यह सुनना सुखद आश्चर्य है कि त्रिलोकीनाथ राम एक तपस्वी की सेवा करने के लिए इतने उत्सुक हैं। यह 'धर्मात्मनो' विशेषण को सिद्ध करता है।
