गम्यताम् इति तेन उक्तो जगाम रघु नन्दनः ।
यथा उद्दिष्टेन मार्गेण वनम् तत् च अवलोकयन् ॥ ॥३-११-७३॥
Gamyatām iti tena ukto jagāma raghu nandanaḥ । Yathā uddiṣṭena mārgeṇa vanam tat ca avalokayan ॥ ॥3-11-73॥
Translation
Having been told "You may go" by the Sage (Sutikshna), Raghunandana (Rama) departed along the indicated path, observing the beauty of that forest.

उस महर्षि (सुतीक्ष्ण) द्वारा "अब आप प्रस्थान करें" ऐसा कहे जाने पर, रघुनंदन श्रीराम ने वन की शोभा देखते हुए उनके द्वारा बताए गए मार्ग से प्रस्थान किया।
English Commentary
This verse marks the transition from Sage Sutikshna’s hermitage to the next phase of Rama's journey. The epithet 'Raghunandana' (Delight of the Raghus) emphasizes Rama's noble lineage and his adherence to the respectful protocol of seeking permission before departing. The phrase 'observing the forest' highlights Rama's profound connection with nature. Despite the gravity of his mission and the hardships of exile, he retains the capacity to appreciate the aesthetic beauty of the wilderness. This dual focus—strictly following the path designated by the Guru while remaining keenly observant of his surroundings—illustrates Rama's balanced state of mind. He does not travel blindly; he is alert, appreciative, and obedient, qualities that define his character as the ideal hero (Dhirodaata Nayaka) moving towards a destiny that will transform the Dandakaranya forest.
