ततो गंभीर निर्ह्रादम् रामः शत्रु निबर्हणः ।
चकार अंताय स रिपोः सज्यम् अन्यन् महत् धनुः ॥ ॥३-२८-२०॥
tato gambhīra nirhrādam rāmaḥ śatru nibarhaṇaḥ |
cakāra antāya sa ripoḥ sajyam anyan mahat dhanuḥ ॥3-28-20॥
Translation
Then Rama, the destroyer of enemies, strung another great bow capable of producing a deep resonant sound, for the destruction of that enemy.

तब शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाले श्रीराम ने उस शत्रु (खर) के अंत के लिए, गंभीर टंकार करने वाले एक अन्य महान धनुष पर प्रत्यंचा चढ़ाई।
English Commentary
Rama retrieves a new weapon to replace the one Khara severed. He is identified here as Shatru nibarhanah (the annihilator of enemies), signalling the shift to a decisive offensive. He strings a mahat dhanuh (great bow) specifically for the anta (end/death) of his enemy. The sound of the bowstring is described as gambhira nirhradam (deep/grave resonance), a sonic foreshadowing of Khara's doom. The deliberate action of stringing this specific bow indicates that the time for testing the enemy is over; the time for elimination has begun.

श्रीराम अब अंतिम प्रहार की तैयारी कर रहे हैं। उनका पिछला धनुष कट चुका था, इसलिए उन्होंने 'अन्यन् महत् धनुः' (दूसरा महान धनुष) उठाया। 'शत्रु निबर्हणः' विशेषण यहाँ उपयुक्त है क्योंकि अब वे खर के वध ('अंताय') के लिए तत्पर हैं। धनुष की टंकार को 'गंभीर निर्ह्रादम्' कहा गया है—एक गहरी, भारी ध्वनि जो मृत्युघंटा के समान है। यह साधारण युद्ध का अंत और दैवीय न्याय की शुरुआत है। श्रीराम की क्रियाओं में अब कोई संकोच नहीं है; वे पूर्णतः संहारक की भूमिका में हैं।
