आर्यपुत्र अभिरामो असौ मृगो हरति मे मनः ।
आनय एनम् महाबाहो क्रीडार्थम् नः भविष्यति ॥ ॥३-४३-१०॥
Āryaputra abhirāmo asau mṛgo harati me manaḥ । Ānaya enam mahābāho krīḍārtham naḥ bhaviṣyati ॥ ॥3-43-10॥
Translation
O Noble Husband, this deer is exceedingly charming; it captivates my mind. Bring him here, O mighty-armed one, he will be for our sport (amusement).
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे आर्यपुत्र! यह मृग बहुत ही मनोहारी है, यह मेरे मन को हर रहा है। हे महाबाहो! इसे ले आइए, यह हमारे खेलने (मनोरंजन) के लिए होगा।
English Commentary
Sita's request is direct and emotionally charged. By stating that the deer harati me manaḥ (captivates my mind), she conveys a sense of compulsion, leveraging Rama's devotion. The honorific mahābāho (mighty-armed) serves as a subtle challenge, suggesting that capturing such a prize is worthy of his great strength. The ultimate goal, krīḍārtham (for our sport), domesticates the fantastical creature, framing the venture as an innocent act of pleasure rather than a dangerous mission.

सीता का अनुरोध यहाँ एक आज्ञा का रूप ले लेता है। 'हरति मे मनः' (यह मेरे मन को हर रहा है) कहकर वह अपनी आंतरिक विवशता व्यक्त करती हैं। वह जानती हैं कि राम उनकी इच्छा को कभी अस्वीकार नहीं करेंगे। 'महाबाहो' कहकर वह राम की क्षमता की प्रशंसा करती हैं, ताकि राम को लगे कि यह शिकार उनके पराक्रम के योग्य है। 'क्रीडार्थम्' (खेल के लिए) शब्द से वह मृग के महत्व को कम करती हैं, इसे एक निर्दोष और घरेलू इच्छा के रूप में प्रस्तुत करती हैं, जिससे राम की चिंता कम हो जाए।
