शत्रुघ्न: कुशलमतिस्तु ते सहाय: सौमित्रिर्मम विदित: प्रधानमित्रम् ।
चत्वारस्तनयवरा वयं नरेन्द्रं सत्यस्थं भरत चराम मा विषादम् ॥२-१०७-१९॥
Śatrughnaḥ kuśalamtistu te sahāyaḥ saumitrirmama viditaḥ pradhānamitram |
Catvārastanayavarā vayaṃ narendraṃ satyasthaṃ bharata carāma mā viṣādam ॥2-107-19॥
Translation
Shatrughna of skillful intellect is your helper, and Saumitri (Lakshmana) is known as my best friend. O Bharata, let us four worthy sons keep the King established in truth. Do not grieve.
हिंदी अनुवाद
कुशल बुद्धि वाले शत्रुघ्न तुम्हारे सहायक हैं, और सुमित्रा-नन्दन (लक्ष्मण) मेरे जाने-माने प्रधान मित्र हैं। हे भरत! हम चारों श्रेष्ठ पुत्र मिलकर राजा (दशरथ) को सत्य में स्थापित करें। तुम विषाद (दुख) मत करो।
English Commentary
Rama concludes his speech with a vision of unity in separation. He acknowledges the pairings: Bharata with the wise Shatrughna, and himself with his "best friend" (Pradhanamitram) Lakshmana. He reframes the situation: it is not a tragedy of separation, but a strategic deployment of "four worthy sons" to uphold one massive pillar—Dasharatha's Truth. By saying "Let us walk/act" (Carama), he includes all four in a collective action. The final command "Ma vishadam" (Do not grieve) reinforces that fulfilling this duty is a glorious, joint enterprise, not a lamentable loss.

यह राम के उपदेश का अंतिम श्लोक है। वे 'टीम वर्क' की भावना लाते हैं। हम चारों भाई—राम, लक्ष्मण, भरत, शत्रुघ्न—अलग होकर भी एक ही लक्ष्य के लिए कार्य कर रहे हैं: पिता का 'सत्य'। राम लक्ष्मण को 'प्रधानमित्रम्' कहते हैं, जो भाई से बढ़कर सखा के रिश्ते को दर्शाता है। 'मा विषादम्' (शोक मत करो)—यह अंतिम संदेश है। राम यह स्थापित करते हैं कि परिवार टूटा नहीं है, बल्कि उसने धर्म रक्षा के लिए अपनी व्यूहरचना (formation) बदल ली है। चारों भाई धर्म रूपी रथ के चार पहिए हैं।
