Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अम्बरीषस्य पुत्रो ऽभून्नहुष: सत्यविक्रम: ।
नहुषस्य च नाभाग: पुत्र: परमधार्मिक: ॥२-११०-३०॥
Ambarīṣasya putro 'bhūnnahuṣaḥ satyavikramaḥ । Nahuṣasya ca nābhāgaḥ putraḥ paramadhārmikaḥ ॥2-110-30॥
Translation
Ambarisha's son was Nahusha, of true valor. And Nahusha's son was Nabhaga, who was supremely righteous.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अम्बरीष के पुत्र सत्य-पराक्रमी 'नहुष' हुए। और नहुष के पुत्र परमधार्मिक 'नाभाग' हुए।
English Commentary
The line continues with Nahusha and Nabhaga. Nahusha is a figure of complex mythology, known for briefly attaining the status of Indra before a fall from grace due to arrogance. His son Nabhaga, however, is described as Paramadharmika (supremely righteous), stabilizing the moral standing of the family. Vasistha is now drawing close to the present generation.

यहाँ नहुष और नाभाग का उल्लेख है। नहुष भी एक प्रसिद्ध राजा हुए जो अपने पुण्य के बल पर इन्द्र के पद तक पहुँचे थे (यद्यपि बाद में पतन हुआ)। उनके पुत्र नाभाग हुए। 'परमधार्मिक' विशेषण बताता है कि नाभाग ने धर्म का दृढ़ता से पालन किया। यह राम के पितामह और प्रपितामह (Great-grandfathers) की पीढ़ी है जो अब दशरथ के निकट आ रही है।
