स्वप्ने अपि सागरम् शुष्कम् चन्द्रम् च पतितम् भुवि ।
सहसा च अपि सम्शन्तम् ज्वलितम् जात वेदसम् ॥ ॥२-६९-११॥
Svapne api sāgaram śuṣkam candram ca patitam bhuvi । Sahasā ca api samśantam jvalitam jāta vedasam ॥ ॥2-69-11॥
Translation
In my dream, I saw the ocean dried up and the moon fallen onto the earth. I also saw the blazing fire suddenly extinguished.

मैंने स्वप्न में समुद्र को सूखा हुआ और चंद्रमा को पृथ्वी पर गिरा हुआ देखा। साथ ही, प्रज्वलित अग्नि को अचानक बुझते हुए देखा।
English Commentary
These images described by Bharata are classic omens of catastrophe in ancient Indian symbolism. The ocean drying up represents a loss of stability and boundaries (Maryada), the core value of the Raghu clan. The falling moon symbolizes the fall of a monarch, and the extinguished fire represents the end of life force or Prana. Bharata's subconscious is receiving telepathic signals of the tragedy that has already occurred in Ayodhya—the death of King Dasharatha—manifesting as these apocalyptic visions.

भरत द्वारा देखे गए ये स्वप्न अत्यंत अशुभ माने जाते हैं। समुद्र का सूखना 'मर्यादा' के नाश का प्रतीक है, जो रघुकुल की पहचान है। चंद्रमा का गिरना किसी उच्च सत्ता या राजा के पतन का संकेत है। अग्नि का बुझना प्राणशक्ति के अंत का सूचक है। स्वप्न शास्त्र के अनुसार, ये सभी दृश्य राज्य में किसी महान शोक या राजा की मृत्यु की पूर्व-सूचना देते हैं। भरत का अवचेतन मन अयोध्या में घटित त्रासदी (दशरथ की मृत्यु) को भांप रहा है।
