कौसल्याम् धर्म सम्युक्ताम् वियुक्ताम् पाप निश्चये ।
कृत्वा कम् प्राप्स्यसे तु अद्य लोकम् निरय गामिनी ॥ ॥२-७४-१२॥
Kausalyām dharma samyuktām viyuktām pāpa niścaye । Kṛtvā kam prāpsyase tu adya lokam niraya gāminī ॥ ॥2-74-12॥
Translation
O woman of sinful resolve! Having separated Kausalya, who is united with Dharma, (from her son and husband), to which world will you go now, O traveler to hell?

हे पाप का निश्चय करने वाली! धर्म से युक्त कौसल्य को (पुत्र/पति से) वियोगिनी बनाकर, हे नरक गामिनी! आज तुम किस लोक को प्राप्त करोगी?
English Commentary
Bharata contrasts the spiritual status of the two queens. Kausalya is dharma samyuktām (endowed with righteousness), while Kaikeyi is addressed as pāpa niścaye (one resolved to sin). Bharata questions what spiritual destination Kaikeyi hopes to achieve after inflicting separation (viyuktām) upon such a pious woman. He rhetorically asks "which world will you attain?" and immediately answers by labeling her niraya gāminī (one bound for hell). This reinforces the idea that her political victory on earth has guaranteed her spiritual defeat in the afterlife.

भरत पुनः कौसल्या के प्रति हुए अन्याय को रेखांकित करते हैं। कौसल्या 'धर्म सम्युक्ताम्' (धर्म से जुड़ी हुई) हैं, जबकि कैकेयी 'पाप निश्चये' (पाप का निश्चय करने वाली) है। भरत पूछते हैं कि एक धर्मात्मा स्त्री को इतना गहरा वियोग देकर कैकेयी को कौन सा सुख या लोक मिलेगा? वह स्वयं ही उत्तर देते हैं—'निरय गामिनी' (नरक की ओर जाने वाली)। भरत का मानना है कि कौसल्या के आँसू कैकेयी के परलोक को पूरी तरह नष्ट कर देंगे।
