दिष्ट्या न चलितः धर्मात् आत्मा ते सह लक्ष्मणः ।
वत्स सत्य प्रतिज्ञो मे सताम् लोकान् अवाप्स्यसि ॥ ॥२-७५-६२॥
diṣṭyā na calitaḥ dharmāt ātmā te saha lakṣmaṇaḥ । vatsa satya pratijño me satām lokān avāpsyasi ॥ ॥2-75-62॥
Translation
"Fortunately, your soul has not swerved from Dharma; you are (righteous) like Lakshmana. Dear child, true to your promise, you shall attain the worlds of the virtuous."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"सौभाग्य से तुम्हारी आत्मा धर्म से विचलित नहीं हुई है, (तुम भी) लक्ष्मण के समान ही (धर्मात्मा) हो। हे वत्स! तुम अपनी प्रतिज्ञा (सत्यनिष्ठा) के कारण सत्पुरुषों के लोकों को प्राप्त करोगे।"
English Commentary
This is the moment of complete vindication. Kausalya declares that Bharata's soul has not deviated from Dharma. The comparison or association with Lakshmana ("saha lakshmanah" - either "along with Lakshmana" or "like Lakshmana") is significant because Lakshmana is the gold standard of loyalty in the Ramayana. By placing Bharata on the same pedestal, she absolves him of all treason. She blesses him to attain the "worlds of the virtuous," effectively negating all the curses Bharata had just invoked upon himself. The term "Vatsa" (dear child) confirms the restoration of their affectionate relationship.

यह श्लोक भरत के चरित्र का 'प्रमाण-पत्र' है जो स्वयं पटरानी कौशल्या ने दिया है। 'दिष्ट्या' (सौभाग्य से) कहकर वे राहत की सांस लेती हैं। वे भरत की तुलना लक्ष्मण से करती हैं ('सह लक्ष्मणः' - लक्ष्मण के साथ/समान), जो राम-भक्ति का सर्वोच्च आदर्श हैं। यह बहुत बड़ी उपमा है। कौशल्या भविष्यवाणी करती हैं कि भरत 'सताम् लोकान्' (संतों के लोक) प्राप्त करेंगे। जो भरत कुछ क्षण पहले अपने लिए नरक मांग रहे थे, उन्हें माता अब स्वर्ग का आशीर्वाद दे रही हैं। सत्य की विजय हुई और माता-पुत्र के बीच का कलुष मिट गया।
