Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
वसिष्ठो भरतम् वाक्यम् उत्थाप्य तम् उवाच ह ।
त्रयोदशोऽयम् दिवसः पितुर्वृत्तस्य ते विभो ॥ ॥२-७७-२२॥
vasiṣṭho bharatam vākyam utthāpya tam uvāca ha । trayo daśo ayam divasaḥ pitur vṛttasya te vibho ॥ ॥2-77-22॥
Translation
Vasishtha raised Bharata up and spoke these words to him: "O Lord (Capable One)! This is the thirteenth day since your father passed away."

वशिष्ठ जी ने भरत को उठाया और उनसे यह वचन कहा: "हे विभो (सामर्थ्यवान)! तुम्हारे पिता के निधन का यह तेरहवां दिन है।"
English Commentary
Vasishtha’s intervention is practical and authoritative. He physically raises Bharata ('utthapya'), signalling an end to the prostration of grief. Addressing Bharata as 'Vibho' (O Capable One) serves to awaken Bharata's sense of duty and dormant strength. The mention of the 'thirteenth day' is crucial. In Vedic rites, the mourning period concludes with final purification ceremonies on this day. Vasishtha is gently but firmly indicating that the time for uncontrolled weeping is over; the ritual obligations to the departed soul must be completed so that order can be restored to the kingdom.
