अनुत्तमम् तत् वचनम् नृप आत्मज ।
प्रभाषितम् सम्श्रवणे निशम्य च ।
प्रहर्षजाः तम् प्रति बाष्प बिन्दवो ।
निपेतुर् आर्य आनन नेत्र सम्भवाः ॥२-७९-१६॥
anuttamam tat vacanam nṛpa ātmaja । prabhāṣitam samśravaṇe niśamya ca । praharṣajāḥ tam prati bāṣpa bindavo । nipetur ārya ānana netra sambhavāḥ ॥ ॥2-79-16॥
Translation
Hearing those unsurpassed words spoken by the prince within everyone's hearing, tears born of great joy fell from the eyes and faces of the Aryas (noble people) towards him.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राजकुमार (भरत) द्वारा सबके समक्ष कहे गए उस सर्वोत्तम वचन को सुनकर, वहां उपस्थित आर्यों (कुलीन/सज्जन लोगों) के मुख और नेत्रों से हर्षजनित आंसुओं की बूंदें गिरने लगीं।
English Commentary
The emotional release of the assembly is captured here. The tears are described as praharṣajāḥ (born of intense joy). After days of uncertainty and the gloom of King Dasharatha's death, Bharata's declaration brings a wave of relief. The term ārya (noble/respectable ones) refers to the ministers, elders, and citizens who value Dharma. Their tears are a silent tribute to Bharata's integrity. Seeing the younger brother fight to restore the elder brother's right moved the assembly to an overwhelming display of emotion. It signifies the restoration of hope in Ayodhya.

भरत के वचनों ने वातावरण को पूरी तरह बदल दिया। 'प्रहर्षजाः बाष्प बिन्दवो' (अत्यधिक हर्ष से उत्पन्न आंसुओं की बूंदें) जनता की भावनात्मक स्थिति को दर्शाती हैं। यह आंसू दुःख के नहीं, बल्कि राहत और गर्व के हैं। उन्होंने देखा कि रघुकुल का धर्म सुरक्षित है। वाल्मीकि जी ने यहाँ 'आर्य' शब्द का प्रयोग किया है, जो सभ्य और सुसंस्कृत नागरिकों के लिए है। वे भरत के चरित्र की उज्ज्वलता को देखकर द्रवित हो गए। यह श्लोक भरत और अयोध्यावासियों के बीच के भावनात्मक संबंध की गहराई को प्रकट करता है; वे भरत को अब संदेह से नहीं, बल्कि प्रेम और श्रद्धा से देख रहे हैं।
