क्लृप्तसर्वासनं श्रीमत् स्वास्तीर्णशयनोत्तमम् ।
प्रविवेश महाबाहुरनुज्ञातो महर्षिणा ।
वेश्म तद्रत्नसम्पूर्णं भरत: केकयीसुत: ॥ ॥२-९१-३५॥
Kḷptasarvāsanaṃ śrīmat svāstīrṇaśayanottamam । Praviveśa mahābāhuranujñāto maharṣiṇā । Veśma tadratnasampūrṇaṃ bharataḥ kekayīsutaḥ ॥ ॥2-91-35॥
Translation
Permitted by the great sage, the mighty-armed Bharata, son of Kaikeyi, entered that jewel-filled mansion which was arranged with all kinds of seats and excellent bedding.

महर्षि (भरद्वाज) की आज्ञा पाकर, महाबाहु कैकेयीनन्दन भरत ने उस रत्नपूर्ण भवन में प्रवेश किया, जहाँ सभी प्रकार के आसन सजे थे और उत्तम बिछौने बिछे हुए थे।
English Commentary
Bharata enters the magical palace, but strictly adheres to protocol. The phrase Anujnato maharshina (permitted by the great sage) highlights his discipline; he does not assume rights over the hospitality until invited. The palace is described as Ratna-sampurnam (filled with gems) and Svastirna (well-furnished with bedding), offering the ultimate luxury. Identifying him as Kaikeyisutah (son of Kaikeyi) subtly reminds the reader of the irony: the son of the woman who sought a kingdom for him is now entering a divine palace in the forest, yet his heart remains with Rama.

भरत का चरित्र यहाँ पुनः उभरता है। इतना भव्य महल सामने होने पर भी उन्होंने 'अनुज्ञातो महर्षिणा' (महर्षि की आज्ञा पाकर) ही प्रवेश किया। वे मर्यादा नहीं लांघते। 'रत्नसम्पूर्णं' शब्द महल के ऐश्वर्य को बताता है। 'केकयीसुत:' संबोधन यहाँ विरोधाभास भी उत्पन्न करता है—कैकेयी ने भरत को राज्य दिलाने के लिए षड्यंत्र किया था, लेकिन यहाँ भरत वन में एक मायावी महल में प्रवेश कर रहे हैं, फिर भी उनका मन विरक्त है। वे 'महाबाहु' (वीर) हैं, लेकिन संतों के प्रति विनत हैं।
