अभिचक्राम तम् देशम् यत्र वै मुनिपुंगवः ।
आसाद्य तम् द्विज श्रेष्ठम् रोमपाद समीपगम् ॥१-११-१७॥
abhicakrāma tam deśam yatra vai munipuṃgavaḥ |
āsādya tam dvija śreṣṭham romapāda samīpagam ॥1-11-17॥
Translation
He (Daśaratha) advanced towards that region where that foremost among the sages (Ṛṣyaśṛṅga) surely was. Having reached that best among the twice-born (Ṛṣyaśṛṅga), who was residing near Romapāda.

वह (दशरथ) उस देश की ओर बढ़े जहाँ निश्चित रूप से वह मुनियों में श्रेष्ठ (ऋष्यशृंग) थे। रोमपाद के समीप स्थित उन द्विज श्रेष्ठ (ऋष्यशृंग) के पास पहुँचकर।
English Commentary
This verse signifies the culmination of King Daśaratha's journey and his preparation for the meeting with Ṛṣyaśṛṅga. The previous verse described the King's departure towards the Anga kingdom. Here, it states that he 'abhicakrāma tam deśam,' meaning he advanced towards that specific region 'yatra vai munipuṃgavaḥ' (where the foremost among the sages, Ṛṣyaśṛṅga, was). The epithet 'Munipuṃgavaḥ' (foremost among the sages) underscores Ṛṣyaśṛṅga's high spiritual status, confirming that Daśaratha was not meeting an ordinary individual. The latter half of the verse indicates the King's success in reaching his destination: 'āsādya tam dvija śreṣṭham' (having reached that best among the twice-born). This Dvija Śreṣṭha (Ṛṣyaśṛṅga) was 'Romapāda samīpagam' (residing near King Romapāda). This implies that Romapāda had accorded Ṛṣyaśṛṅga due respect and a place in his kingdom, as was foretold in the prophecy. King Daśaratha's journey has now reached its end, where he is about to meet the person of supernatural power necessary for his Putreṣṭi Yajña.
