Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
केचिद् अंगार सदृशाः केचिद् धूम उपमाः तथा ।
चन्द्र अर्क सदृशाः केचित् प्रह्व अंजलि पुटाः तथा ॥१-२८-१२॥
kecid aṃgāra sadṛśāḥ kecid dhūma upamāḥ tathā । candra arka sadṛśāḥ kecit prahva añjali puṭāḥ tathā ॥ ॥1-28-12॥
Translation
Some of them (the presiding deities of the missiles) resembled glowing coals, some were like smoke, and others shone like the sun or the moon. They all stood there with folded palms (in reverence).
हिंदी अनुवाद
उनमें से कुछ (अस्त्र-देवता) जलते हुए अंगारे के समान थे, कुछ धुएं के समान थे और कुछ सूर्य तथा चन्द्रमा के समान आभा वाले थे। वे सभी हाथ जोड़कर खड़े थे।
English Commentary
This verse provides a vivid visual description of the Astra-devatas (the presiding deities of the celestial weapons) manifesting before Rama. The imagery creates a contrast between their terrifying potential and their radiant divinity; "coals" and "smoke" suggest the destructive element of fire, while "sun" and "moon" suggest brilliance and cosmic order. Crucially, despite their elemental power, they stand with "folded palms" (anjali putah). This signifies their total submission and loyalty to Rama as their new master, highlighting that true power in the Vedic context is always subservient to the righteous wielder.

यहाँ उन दिव्य अस्त्रों के मानवीकरण (personification) का वर्णन है जो विश्वामित्र की कृपा से श्रीराम के समक्ष प्रकट हुए। वाल्मीकि जी उनकी दृश्य प्रकृति का वर्णन करते हैं—'अंगार' और 'धूम' उनकी विध्वंसक अग्नि शक्ति का प्रतीक हैं, जबकि 'चन्द्र' और 'सूर्य' उनके तेज और प्रभाव को दर्शाते हैं। यद्यपि ये अस्त्र महाविनाशकारी शक्तियों से युक्त हैं, किन्तु 'प्रह्व अंजलि पुटाः' (हाथ जोड़े हुए) वाक्यांश यह दर्शाता है कि वे श्रीराम की अधीनता स्वीकार कर चुके हैं। शक्ति का यह समर्पण श्रीराम के व्यक्तित्व की दिव्यता को रेखांकित करता है।
