विश्वामित्र वचः श्रुत्वा सर्वे ते मुनि पुंगवाः ।
सम्मताः परम् आह्लादम् विश्वामित्रम् अथाब्रुवन् ॥१-५९-२२॥
viśvāmitra vacaḥ śrutvā sarve te muni puṅgavāḥ । sammatāḥ param āhlādaṁ viśvāmitram athābruvan ॥1-59-22॥
Translation
Hearing Viśvāmitra's words, all those best among the sages agreed, and being extremely delighted, then spoke to Viśvāmitra.

विश्वामित्र के वचन को सुनकर, वे सभी मुनिश्रेष्ठ सहमत हो गए और अत्यंत हर्षित होकर विश्वामित्र से यह कहा।
English Commentary
Upon hearing Viśvāmitra's unprecedented declaration, the final reaction of the sages was one of complete agreement and delight. 'Sammatāḥ' (agreed) indicates that they had now accepted Viśvāmitra's resolve and had no intention of opposing him. They spoke with 'param āhlādaṁ' (extreme delight), meaning they were excited to participate in this unprecedented act of challenging the authority of the gods. This was the final victory of Viśvāmitra's power—he had overcome not only Vasiṣṭha's influence but also the resistance of the gods, bringing the sages to his side. Now, with the consent of the sages, Viśvāmitra's resolve to create a new heaven was ready to be implemented.
