सा पान योगात् च निवृत्त लज्जादृष्टि प्रसादात् च नरेन्द्र सूनोः ।
उवाच तारा प्रणय प्रगल्भम्वाक्यम् महार्थम् परिसांत्व रूपम् ॥४-३३-४०॥
sā pāna yogāt ca nivṛtta lajjā dṛṣṭi prasādāt ca narendra sūnoḥ |
uvāca tārā praṇaya pragalbham vākyam mahārtham parisāṃtva rūpam ॥4-33-40॥
Translation
Her shyness removed by the influence of wine and encouraged by the gentle demeanor of the prince, Tara spoke words that were bold with affection, full of great meaning, and conciliatory in nature.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मदिरा के प्रभाव से लज्जा दूर हो जाने के कारण और राजकुमार की सौम्य दृष्टि (या व्यवहार) को देखकर, तारा ने प्रेमपूर्वक, निर्भीक, महत्वपूर्ण अर्थ वाला और सांत्वनापूर्ण वाक्य कहा।
English Commentary
Emboldened by alcohol ('pana yogat') which stripped away her inhibitions, and reassured by Lakshmana's non-threatening posture, Tara seizes the initiative. She speaks with a mixture of 'pranaya' (affection/familiarity) and 'pragalbham' (boldness/confidence). The text notes her speech was 'mahartham'—of great significance or substance. She isn't merely babbling; she is using her relaxed state to bridge the gap between the rigid prince and the monkey court. Her approach is calculated to be soothing ('parisantva rupam'), transforming the interaction from a confrontation into a conversation.
