यथा विनिहतः संख्ये रावणो देवकण्टकः ।
समागमश्च त्रिदशैर्यथा दत्तश्च ते वरः ॥६-१२७-१५॥
yathā vinihataḥ saṅkhye rāvaṇo devakaṇṭakaḥ |
samāgamaśca tridaśair yathā dattaśca te varaḥ ॥6-127-15॥
Translation
How Ravana, the thorn for the Gods, was slain in battle; Your meeting with the Gods and the boons granted by them to You—
हिंदी अनुवाद
देवताओं के लिए कांटे के समान उस रावण का युद्ध में संहार, देवताओं (त्रिदश) के साथ तुम्हारा मिलन और उनके द्वारा तुम्हें वरदान दिया जाना—
English Commentary
The epithet 'Devakantakah' (thorn for the Gods) is apt for Ravana as he disrupted cosmic order. The appearance of the Gods before Shri Rama was the final validation of the success of His incarnation.
हिंदी टीका
रावण के लिए 'देवकण्टकः' विशेषण अत्यंत उपयुक्त है, क्योंकि उसने ईश्वरीय व्यवस्था में बाधा डाली थी। देवताओं का श्री राम के सम्मुख प्रकट होना उनके अवतार के उद्देश्य की सिद्धि का अंतिम प्रमाण था।
