Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सर्वं ममैतद्विदितं तपसा धर्मवत्सल ।
अहमप्यत्र ते दद्मि वरं शस्त्रभृतां वर ॥६-१२७-१६॥
sarvaṃ mamaitadviditaṃ tapasā dharmavatsala |
ahamapyatra te dadmi varaṃ śastrabhṛtāṃ vara ॥6-127-16॥
Translation
O lover of Dharma! All this is known to me through the power of my penance. O best among the wielders of weapons! I too wish to grant You a boon on this occasion.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे धर्मप्रेमी! यह सब मुझे अपनी तपस्या के प्रभाव से ज्ञात है। हे शस्त्रधारियों में श्रेष्ठ! मैं भी इस अवसर पर तुम्हें एक वरदान देना चाहता हूँ।
English Commentary
The sage offers the fruits of his penance in service to Dharma. Addressing Shri Rama as 'foremost of weapon-wielders' honors His supreme status as a warrior. A sage offering a boon to God highlights the dignity of the Guru-Shishya tradition where even the Divine accepts the grace of the enlightened sages.

ऋषि यहाँ अपनी तप-शक्ति (तपसा) को धर्म की सेवा में अर्पित कर रहे हैं। श्री राम को 'शस्त्रभृतां वरः' कहना उनकी योद्धा के रूप में सर्वोच्च स्थिति का सम्मान है। एक ऋषि द्वारा भगवान को वरदान दिया जाना, गुरु-शिष्य परम्परा की उस गरिमा को दर्शाता है जहाँ ईश्वर भी ऋषियों के अनुग्रह को स्वीकार करते हैं।
