बाढमित्येव संहृष्टो धीमान् वरमयाचत ।
अकाले फलिनो वृक्षाः सर्वे चापि मधुस्रवाः ॥६-१२७-१८॥
bāḍhamityeva saṃhṛṣṭo dhīmān varamayācata |
akāle phalino vṛkṣāḥ sarve cāpi madhusravāḥ ॥6-127-18॥
Translation
Rejoicing, the wise Shri Rama said, 'So be it,' and asked for this boon: 'O venerable one! May all the trees (on the way to Ayodhya) bear fruit out of season and flow with honey.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
प्रसन्न होकर बुद्धिमान श्री राम ने 'बहुत अच्छा' कहकर यह वरदान माँगा— 'हे भगवन! (अयोध्या के मार्ग में) सभी वृक्ष बिना ऋतु के भी फलों से लद जाएं और उनमें से शहद टपकने लगे।'
English Commentary
Shri Rama's choice of a boon reveals His compassion for His followers. He is concerned about the hunger and fatigue of the vast Vanara army accompanying Him. Requesting fruits 'out of season' ('Akale phalinah') acknowledges the sages' mastery over the natural elements. This showcases His practical wisdom ('Dhiman').

श्री राम का वरदान मांगना उनकी 'प्रजा-वत्सल' और 'सेना-वत्सल' छवि को उजागर करता है। वे अपने साथ आने वाली विशाल वानर सेना की क्षुधा और थकान की चिंता कर रहे थे। 'अकाले फलिनः' (बिना मौसम के फल) की मांग प्रकृति पर ऋषियों के नियंत्रण को सिद्ध करती है। यह उनकी सूक्ष्म बुद्धिमत्ता (धीमान्) का भी प्रमाण है।
