ततोऽभ्यवकिरन्त्वन्ये लाजैः पुष्पैश्च सर्वशः ।
समुच्छ्रितपताकास्तु रथ्याः पुरवरोत्तमे ॥६-१३०-७॥
tato'bhyavakirantvanye lājaiḥ puṣpaiśca sarvaśaḥ |
samucchritapatākāstu rathyāḥ puravarottame ॥6-130-7॥
Translation
Then, let others scatter parched paddy (laja) and flowers everywhere. Let flags be hoisted on the streets of this best of cities.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तदनन्तर, अन्य लोग सब ओर लाजा (खीलों) और फूलों की वर्षा करें। श्रेष्ठ नगर की गलियों में पताकाएं (झंडे) फहरा दी जाएं।
English Commentary
Scattering 'laja' (parched paddy) and flowers is an auspicious act representing prosperity and joy. Decorating the city with flags signifies victory. Ayodhya, which had been in a state of mourning like a widow for fourteen years, is now adorning itself like a bride for the return of its Lord.

'लाजा' (धान की खीलें) और पुष्प बिखेरना मांगलिक कार्य है, जो समृद्धि और खुशी का प्रतीक है। नगर को ध्वजा-पताकाओं से सजाना विजय उत्सव का अभिन्न अंग है। अयोध्या, जो चौदह वर्षों से 'विधवा' के समान थी, आज पुनः 'सुहागिन' की भांति श्रृंगार कर रही है।
