शोभयन्तु च वेश्मानि सूर्यस्योदयनं प्रति ।
स्रग्दामभिर्मुक्तपुष्पैः सुगन्धैः पञ्चवर्णकैः ॥६-१३०-८॥
śobhayantu ca veśmāni sūryasyodayanaṃ prati |
sragdāmabhirmuktapuṣpaiḥ sugandhaiḥ pañcavarṇakaiḥ ॥6-130-8॥
Translation
By the time of sunrise, decorate the houses with garlands of flowers, loose flowers, and fragrant materials of five colors.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सूर्योदय होने तक मकानों को फूलों की मालाओं से, खुले (बिखरे हुए) फूलों से और पांच रंगों वाले सुगंधित द्रव्यों/रंगोलियों से सजा दो।
English Commentary
The deadline is sunrise, anticipating Shri Rama's arrival. 'Panchavarnakaih' refers to five-colored decorations, likely flowers or rangoli patterns. This instruction applies not just to public buildings but to private 'veshma' (houses), indicating that Shri Rama's return is a personal festival for every household.
