आयुष्यमारोग्यकरं यशस्यं सौभ्रातृकं बुद्धिकरं शुभं च ।
श्रोतव्यमेतन्नियमेन सद्भिराख्यानमोजस्करमृद्धिकामैः ॥६-१३१-१२१॥
āyuṣyamārogyakaraṃ yaśasyaṃ saubhrātṛkaṃ buddhikaraṃ śubhaṃ ca |
śrotavyamētanniyamēna sadbhirākhyānamōjaskaramṛddhikāmaiḥ ॥6-131-121॥
Translation
This narrative bestows longevity and health, brings fame, strengthens brotherhood, increases intelligence, and is extremely auspicious. Noble people desiring prosperity should regularly listen to it.

यह आख्यान आयु और आरोग्य बढ़ाने वाला, यश देने वाला, भाईचारे को दृढ़ करने वाला, बुद्धिदायक और अत्यंत शुभ है। समृद्धि चाहने वाले सज्जन पुरुषों को नियमपूर्वक इसे सुनना चाहिए।
English Commentary
The attribute 'Saubhratrikam' (enhancing fraternal love) is the greatest legacy of the Ramayana. The bond between Shri Rama and Lakshmana remains a global symbol of brotherhood. 'Ojaskaram' implies that which infuses one's persona with new luster and willpower. This verse presents the Ramayana as a 'mental tonic' for the soul.

'सौभ्रातृकम्' (भ्रातृ-प्रेम बढ़ाने वाला) विशेषण श्री रामायण की सबसे बड़ी देन है। श्री राम-लक्ष्मण का प्रेम आज भी भाईचारे का वैश्विक प्रतीक है। 'ओजस्करम्' का अर्थ है वह जो मनुष्य के व्यक्तित्व में एक नई चमक और संकल्प शक्ति भर दे। यह श्लोक श्री रामायण को एक 'मानसिक टॉनिक' के रूप में प्रस्तुत करता है।
