Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अपरं चन्द्रसंकाशं राक्षसेन्द्रो विभीषणः ।
मालां ज्वलन्तीं वपुषा काञ्चनीं शतपुष्कराम् ॥६-१३१-६९॥
aparaṃ candrasaṅkāśaṃ rākṣasendro vibhīṣaṇaḥ |
mālāṃ jvalantīṃ vapuṣā kāñcanīṃ śatapuṣkarām ॥6-131-69॥
Translation
Vibhishana, the lord of Rakshasas, held another moon-bright whisk. A glowing golden garland of a hundred lotuses was also presented.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राक्षसराज विभीषण ने चंद्रमा के समान उज्ज्वल दूसरा चँवर संभाला। उस समय (देवताओं ने) सौ कमलों वाली चमकती हुई स्वर्णमाला अर्पित की।
English Commentary
Vibhishana waving the whisk is the ultimate proof of the destruction of unrighteousness and the transformation of the Rakshasa heart. Ravana's brother is now Shri Rama's servant. The golden garland signifies the jubilation of divine powers. The hundred lotuses ('Shatapushkaram') symbolize perfection and success. The King of Lanka serving the King of Ayodhya initiates a vision of cultural unity across the land.

विभीषण का चँवर डुलाना अधर्म के विनाश और राक्षसों के हृदय-परिवर्तन का सबसे बड़ा प्रमाण है। रावण का भाई आज श्री राम का सेवक है। 'स्वर्णमाला' का उल्लेख दिव्य शक्तियों के उल्लास को दर्शाता है। सौ कमल (शतपुष्कराम्) पूर्णता और सिद्धि के प्रतीक हैं। लंका की विजय के बाद अब लंका का राजा अयोध्या के राजा की परिचर्या में संलग्न है, जो अखंड भारत की सांस्कृतिक एकता का सूत्रपात है।
