Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अवैक्षन् हरीन् सर्वान् भर्तारं च मुहुर्मुहुः ।
तामिङ्गितज्ञः संप्रेक्ष्य बभाषे जनकात्मजाम् ॥६-१३१-८०॥
avaikṣan harīn sarvān bhartāraṃ ca muhurmuhuḥ |
tāmiṅgitajñaḥ saṃprekṣya babhāṣe janakātmajām ॥6-131-80॥
Translation
She was looking repeatedly at all the monkeys and at her husband. Understanding her intention, Shri Rama spoke to the daughter of Janaka.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे बार-बार सभी वानरों और अपने पति की ओर देख रही थीं। उनके मन के भावों को जानने वाले श्री राम ने जनकनन्दिनी से यह बात कही।
English Commentary
Sita was in a state of modest hesitation. She wanted Hanuman to receive proper recognition but did not wish to overstep bounds. Shri Rama, being 'Ingitajnah' (knower of gestures/intent), instantly understood her heart's desire. This verse depicts the subtle communication between husband and wife where words are unnecessary.

सीता जी यहाँ संकोच में थीं। वे चाहती थीं कि हनुमान जी को उचित सम्मान मिले, किन्तु वे मर्यादा का उल्लंघन नहीं करना चाहती थीं। श्री राम 'इङ्गितज्ञ' (संकेतों को जानने वाले) हैं, वे अपनी पत्नी के हृदय की बात तुरंत समझ गए। यह श्लोक पति-पत्नी के बीच के उस सूक्ष्म संवाद को दर्शाता है जहाँ शब्दों की आवश्यकता नहीं होती।
