English Commentary
The ninth sarga introduces the voice of reason amidst the clamor for war. It begins by listing the hawkish generals. Their names are indicative of their nature: 'Suptaghna' (Slayer of Sleepers) implies treacherous warfare, and 'Yajnaha' (Destroyer of Sacrifices) signifies anti-dharma activities. This assembly represents the chaotic, destructive energy opposing Shri Rama.
