त्रीन् मासान् अष्ट मासान् च राघवो न्यवसत् सुखम् ।
तत्र संवसतः तस्य मुनीनाम् आश्रमेषु वै ॥ ॥३-११-२६॥
trīn māsān aṣṭa māsān ca rāghavo nyavasat sukham |
tatra saṃvasataḥ tasya munīnām āśrameṣu vai ॥3-11-26॥
Translation
Raghava lived happily for three months somewhere and eight months elsewhere. Thus, he resided in the hermitages of the sages.

राघव ने कहीं तीन महीने तो कहीं आठ महीने सुखपूर्वक निवास किया। इस प्रकार मुनियों के आश्रमों में रहते हुए उनका समय बीता।
English Commentary
The word 'sukham' (happily) challenges the popular notion that the entire exile was a period of unmitigated suffering. For a significant portion, Rama enjoyed the intellectual and spiritual company of the sages. This verse serves as a summary of a peaceful era in Rama's life where he lived as a student and protector, integrated into the forest's ascetic community, free from the political intrigues of Ayodhya or the imminent wars of Lanka.

'सुखम्' (सुखपूर्वक) शब्द यहाँ महत्वपूर्ण है। अक्सर वनवास को केवल कष्ट के रूप में देखा जाता है, परन्तु रामायण स्पष्ट करती है कि ऋषियों के सान्निध्य में राम का समय बहुत आनंद में बीता। यह सत्संग और ज्ञानार्जन का काल था। राम ने इस समय का उपयोग आध्यात्मिक और मानसिक परिपक्वता के लिए किया। मुनियों के आश्रम सुरक्षित पनाहगार थे जहाँ राजसी सुख न सही, पर आत्मिक शांति उपलब्ध थी।
