Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तत्र अपि न्यवसत् रामः कंचित् कालम् अरिन्दमः ।
अथ आश्रमस्थो विनयात् कदाचित् तम् महामुनिम् ॥ ॥३-११-२९॥
tatra api nyavasat rāmaḥ kaṃcit kālam arindamaḥ |
atha āśramastho vinayāt kadācit tam mahāmunim ॥3-11-29॥
Translation
Rama, the subduer of enemies, stayed there also for some time. Then, while residing in the hermitage, he one day spoke with great humility to that great sage.

शत्रुओं का दमन करने वाले राम (अरिन्दम) वहां भी कुछ समय तक रहे। तदनन्तर, आश्रम में रहते हुए एक दिन उन्होंने अत्यंत विनयपूर्वक उन महामुनि (सुतीक्ष्ण) से कहा।
English Commentary
While living quietly, Rama is identified as 'Arindama' (subduer of foes), foreshadowing the martial role he is about to resume. His approach to the sage is marked by 'vinayāt' (humility). This juxtaposition of power and humility is central to Rama's character. The verse sets the scene for a formal request, transitioning the narrative from the passive 'wandering' phase to an active 'seeking' phase where Rama looks for Agastya.
