एतद् एव आश्रम पदम् नूनम् तस्य महात्मनः ।
अगस्त्यस्य मुनेर् भ्रातुर् दृश्यते पुण्य कर्मणः ॥ ॥३-११-४७॥
etad eva āśrama padam nūnam tasya mahātmanaḥ । agastyasya muner bhrātur dṛśyate puṇya karmaṇaḥ ॥ ॥3-11-47॥
Translation
Indeed, this appears to be the hermitage of that great soul, the brother of the sage Agastya, who performs heavy pious deeds.

निश्चय ही यह उसी महात्मा का आश्रम दिखाई दे रहा है, जो पुण्यकर्मा मुनि अगस्त्य के भाई हैं।
English Commentary
Rama identifies the location not as Agastya’s main hermitage, but as that of Agastya's brother. The text uses respectful epithets like "Mahatmanah" (great soul) and "Punya karmanah" (of pious deeds) for the brother, indicating his high spiritual status. This stop is a prelude to meeting Agastya himself. It is believed in tradition that this brother is Sage Idhmavahana. Rama’s ability to recognize the spot confirms he has been keenly observing the landmarks described by Sutikshna. It emphasizes the dense network of ascetic settlements in the Dandaka forest.
