Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ततः सुतीक्ष्णस्य वचनम् यथा सौम्य मया श्रुतम् ।
अगस्त्यस्य आश्रमो भ्रातुर् नूनम् एष भविष्यति ॥ ॥३-११-५३॥
tataḥ sutīkṣṇasya vacanam yathā saumya mayā śrutam । agastyasya āśramo bhrātur nūnam eṣa bhaviṣyati ॥ ॥3-11-53॥
Translation
O gentle one (Lakshmana), just as I heard from the words of Sutikshna, this indeed appears to be the hermitage of Agastya's brother.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे सौम्य (लक्ष्मण)! सुतीक्ष्ण मुनि के मुख से मैंने जैसा सुना था, उसके अनुसार निश्चय ही यह अगस्त्य मुनि के भाई का आश्रम है।
English Commentary
In this verse, Rama confirms their location to Lakshmana, addressing him affectionately as "Saumya" (gentle one). By cross-referencing the visual cues with the instructions he received from Sage Sutikshna, Rama concludes they have arrived at the ashram of Agastya's brother. This highlights Rama's sharp memory and attention to detail.
