Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तस्य तद् वचनम् श्रुत्वा लक्ष्मणस्य तपोधनः ।
तथा इति उक्त्वा अग्नि शरणम् प्रविवेश निवेदितुम् ॥ ॥३-१२-५॥
Tasya tad vachanam śrutvā lakṣmaṇasya tapodhanaḥ । Tathā iti uktvā agni śaraṇam praviveśa niveditum ॥ ॥3-12-5॥
Translation
"Hearing those words of Lakshmana, the ascetic disciple said 'So be it' (Tatha) and entered the fire sanctuary to announce them."

"लक्ष्मण के उन वचनों को सुनकर उस तपस्वी शिष्य ने 'तथा' (वैसा ही होगा) कहा और (अगस्त्य मुनि को) निवेदन करने के लिए अग्निशाला में प्रवेश किया।"
English Commentary
The interaction is efficient. The disciple acknowledges the request with "Tatha" (Amen/So be it). The location of Agastya is revealed as the Agni-sharanam (sanctuary of sacred fire), implying he is engaged in rituals. The disciple enters this sacred space, bridging the outer world of the royal guests and the inner sanctum of the sage. The term Tapodhana (wealthy in penance) for the disciple indicates that the attendants here are spiritual aspirants of high caliber.
