राम प्रीतो अस्मि भद्रम् ते परितुष्टो अस्मि लक्ष्मण ।
अभिवादयितुम् यन् माम् प्राप्तौ स्थः सह सीतया ॥ ॥३-१३-१॥
Rāma prīto asmi bhadram te parituṣṭo asmi lakṣmaṇa |
Abhivādayitum yan mām prāptau sthaḥ saha sītayā ॥3-13-1॥
Translation
(Agastya said) "O Rama, I am pleased (with you), may prosperity be yours! I am very satisfied with you too, O Lakshmana, that you both, along with Sita, have come to pay your respects to me."
हिंदी अनुवाद
(अगस्त्य बोले) "हे राम! मैं तुमसे प्रसन्न हूँ, तुम्हारा कल्याण हो। हे लक्ष्मण! मैं तुमसे भी अति संतुष्ट हूँ, कि तुम दोनों सीता के साथ मुझे प्रणाम करने (अभिवादन) के लिए यहाँ आए।"
English Commentary
Sarga 13 opens with a warm benediction. Agastya expresses his personal joy ('Prito asmi') and satisfaction ('Paritushto asmi') with both brothers. He blesses Rama with 'Bhadram te' (May good betide you). The cause of his happiness is explicitly stated: they made the effort to come and offer respects ('Abhivadayitum'). It reinforces the merit of 'Satsang' (company of the holy)—the mere act of visiting the sage has pleased him, triggering the flow of both material (weapons) and spiritual (blessings) grace.

नए सर्ग का आरंभ अगस्त्य मुनि के आशीर्वाद से होता है। अस्त्र देने के बाद अब वे अपना वात्सल्य प्रकट कर रहे हैं। 'प्रीतो अस्मि' (मैं प्रसन्न हूँ) और 'परितुष्टो अस्मि' (मैं भली-भांति संतुष्ट हूँ) - ये शब्द ऋषि की पूर्ण स्वीकृति को दर्शाते हैं। 'भद्रम् ते' (तुम्हारा कल्याण हो) एक वैदिक आशीष है। मुनि इस बात से विशेष प्रसन्न हैं कि राम, लक्ष्मण और सीता ने वन के कष्ट सहते हुए भी संतों के दर्शन का धर्म नहीं छोड़ा। यह श्लोक आत्मीयता और आशीर्वाद की वर्षा है।
