तत्र गत्वा आश्रम पदम् कृत्वा सौमित्रिणा सह ।
रमस्व त्वम् पितुर् वाक्यम् यथा उक्तम् अनुपालयन् ॥ ॥३-१३-१४॥
Tatra gatvā āśrama padam kṛtvā saumitriṇā saha । Ramasva tvam pitur vākyam yathā uktam anupālayan ॥ ॥3-13-14॥
Translation
Go there, build a hermitage along with Lakshmana (Saumitri), and dwell happily, fulfilling the command of your father exactly as stated.

तुम लक्ष्मण सहित वहाँ जाकर आश्रम बनाओ और अपने पिता के वचनों का यथोक्त पालन करते हुए वहां सुखपूर्वक निवास करो।
English Commentary
Agastya explicitly ties the residence in Panchavati to the fulfillment of Dasharatha’s command ('pitur vakyam'). This reinforces the central theme of the Ramayana: adherence to Dharma and filial duty. The imperative 'ramasva' (rejoice/dwell happily) is a blessing, encouraging Rama to find peace even in exile. By mentioning 'Saumitrina saha' (with Lakshmana), Agastya practically acknowledges the division of labor; Lakshmana is the architect and protector who will physically construct the 'ashrama padam'. Agastya is essentially validating Rama's current path, assuring him that establishing a home in Panchavati is the correct step in honoring his father's vow.

यह श्लोक 'पितृ वाक्य परिपालन' (पिता के वचन का पालन) पर जोर देता है। अगस्त्य मुनि जानते हैं कि राम के वनवास का मुख्य उद्देश्य धर्म और सत्य की रक्षा है। वे राम को 'रमस्व' (रमण करो/आनंद लो) का आशीर्वाद देते हैं, यह जानते हुए भी कि भविष्य में संघर्ष है। 'सौमित्रिणा सह' (लक्ष्मण के साथ) कहकर वे पुनः यह संकेत दे रहे हैं कि आश्रम निर्माण जैसा भारी कार्य लक्ष्मण के सहयोग से ही संभव होगा। अगस्त्य यहाँ एक अभिभावक की तरह राम को उनके कर्तव्य की याद दिला रहे हैं—कि वनवास केवल कष्ट भोगना नहीं है, बल्कि प्रसन्नतापूर्वक पिता की आज्ञा को निभाना है। यह राम के मानसिक बल को सुदृढ़ करने वाला उपदेश है।
