इयम् आदित्य संकाशैः पद्मैः सुरभि गंधिभिः ।
अदूरे दृश्यते रम्या पद्मिनी पद्म शोभिता ॥३-१५-११॥
iyam āditya saṃkāśaiḥ padmaiḥ surabhi gandhibhiḥ |
adūre dṛśyate ramyā padminī padma śobhitā ॥3-15-11॥
Translation
Within a short distance, this beautiful lotus pond is visible, adorned with fragrant lotuses that shine as bright as the sun.

यह रमणीय कमलिनी (कमल-सरोवर) सूर्य के समान तेजस्वी और सुगंधित कमलों से सुशोभित होकर यहाँ से थोड़ी ही दूर दिखाई दे रही है।
English Commentary
Rama continues his survey of the site's amenities. He points out a "Padmini" (lotus pond) nearby. The lotuses are described as "Aditya sankashaih" (resplendent like the sun), indicating their brightness and the purity of the environment. For an ashram, proximity to a clean water source for bathing and rituals, and flowers for worship, is essential. Rama’s observation highlights his aesthetic sensibility; even in the rigors of exile, he appreciates the sublime beauty of nature, finding joy in the "ramya" (delightful) surroundings, ensuring Sita will be pleased.
