यथा आख्यातम् अगस्त्येन मुनिना भावितात्मना ।
इयम् गोदावरी रम्या पुष्पितैः तरुभिर् वृता ॥३-१५-१२॥
yathā ākhyātam agastyena muninā bhāvitātmanā |
iyam godāvarī ramyā puṣpitaiḥ tarubhir vṛtā ॥3-15-12॥
Translation
Just as described by the Sage Agastya of purified soul, here is the beautiful river Godavari, surrounded by blossoming trees.

जैसा कि शुद्ध अंतःकरण वाले मुनि अगस्त्य ने बताया था, यह रमणीय गोदावरी नदी खिले हुए वृक्षों से घिरी हुई है।
English Commentary
This verse underscores the accuracy of the Guru's words and the disciple's attentiveness. Rama verifies that the landscape matches the description given by the "bhavitatmana" (pure-souled) Sage Agastya. The Godavari River is the lifeline of Panchavati. The mention of the riverbanks being lined with blooming trees suggests a pleasant, shaded access to the water, which is crucial for daily activities. यह श्लोक गुरु के वचनों की सत्यता और शिष्य की स्मृति को रेखांकित करता है। राम स्मरण करते हैं कि 'भावितात्मना' (शुद्ध आत्मा वाले) ऋषि अगस्त्य ने गोदावरी का जैसा वर्णन किया था, यह दृश्य ठीक वैसा ही है। गोदावरी नदी पंचवटी के जीवन की धुरी है। नदी का तट 'पुष्पितैः तरुभिर् वृता' (फूलों वाले पेड़ों से घिरा) है, जो नदी तक जाने वाले मार्ग को छायादार और सुखद बनाता है। राम यहाँ पुष्टि कर रहे हैं कि वे सही भौगोलिक स्थान पर हैं, जिससे लक्ष्मण को स्थान चयन करने में आत्मविश्वास मिलता है।
