Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
एवम् उक्तः तु रामेण लक्ष्मणः परवीरहा ।
अचिरेण आश्रमम् भ्रातुः चकार सुमहाबलः ॥३-१५-२०॥
evam uktaḥ tu rāmeṇa lakṣmaṇaḥ paravīrahā |
acireṇa āśramam bhrātuḥ cakāra sumahābalaḥ ॥3-15-20॥
Translation
Thus spoken to by Rama, Lakshmana, the slayer of enemy heroes and possessor of great strength, quickly constructed a hermitage for his brother.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राम के द्वारा ऐसा कहे जाने पर, शत्रुओं के वीरों का नाश करने वाले और अत्यंत बलशाली लक्ष्मण ने शीघ्र ही अपने भाई के लिए आश्रम का निर्माण कर दिया।
English Commentary
Upon receiving the command, Lakshmana springs into action. Valmiki uses warrior epithets for him here: "Paraviraha" (slayer of hostile heroes) and "Sumahabalah" (one of great strength). Though there is no battle, these titles emphasize that Lakshmana channeled his immense martial physical power into manual labor. He built the hermitage "achirena" (very quickly), single-handedly. This verse glorifies Lakshmana as the ideal Karma Yogi who uses his strength not just for destruction of evil, but for the constructive service of the Divine.

राम की आज्ञा मिलते ही लक्ष्मण कर्म में प्रवृत्त हो गए। वाल्मीकि यहाँ लक्ष्मण के लिए दो विशेषणों का प्रयोग करते हैं—'परवीरहा' (शत्रुवीरों का हंता) और 'सुमहाबलः' (महाबली)। यहाँ कोई युद्ध नहीं हो रहा, फिर भी इन विशेषणों का प्रयोग यह बताने के लिए है कि लक्ष्मण ने अपनी युद्ध-शक्ति और बल का उपयोग निर्माण कार्य (Construction) में किया। उन्होंने अकेले ही, बिना किसी सहायता के, 'अचिरेण' (बहुत शीघ्र) आश्रम खड़ा कर दिया। यह उनकी अद्भुत कार्यक्षमता और राम के प्रति सेवा-भाव का प्रमाण है। उनकी ऊर्जा विध्वंस (शत्रु नाश) और निर्माण (आश्रम रचना) दोनों में समान रूप से प्रभावी है।
