Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सुप्रीतः तेन वाक्येन लक्ष्मणस्य महाद्युतिः ।
विमृशन् रोचयामास देशम् सर्व गुण अन्वितम् ॥३-१५-८॥
suprītaḥ tena vākyena lakṣmaṇasya mahādyutiḥ |
vimṛśan rocayāmāsa deśam sarva guṇa anvitam ॥3-15-8॥
Translation
The resplendent Rama was greatly pleased by those words of Lakshmana. After careful consideration, he selected a spot possessing all the desired qualities.

लक्ष्मण के उन वचनों से महातेजस्वी राम अत्यंत प्रसन्न हुए। उन्होंने विचार करके एक ऐसे स्थान को पसंद किया जो सभी गुणों से युक्त था।
English Commentary
Rama is 'supritah' (very pleased) not because he regained control, but because he appreciated the depth of Lakshmana's devotion and surrender found in his refusal to choose independently. Acknowledging this gesture of total dedication, Rama takes on the role of the decision-maker. He acts with 'vimrishan' (deliberation), carefully scanning the landscape to find a spot that met all the physical and spiritual criteria previously discussed ('sarva guna anvitam'). This interaction reinforces the ideal relationship where the Master commands and the Devotee executes with joy.

राम लक्ष्मण के उत्तर से 'सुप्रीतः' (अत्यंत प्रसन्न) हुए। वे प्रसन्न इसलिए नहीं थे कि उन्हें काम करना पड़ा, बल्कि इसलिए कि उन्होंने लक्ष्मण के समर्पण की गहराई को समझा। लक्ष्मण ने जो 'पारतन्त्र्य' (समर्पण) दिखाया, वह भक्ति का उच्चतम रूप है। इसके बाद, 'विमृशन्' (विचार करके/देखकर) राम ने स्वयं उस स्थान का चयन किया जो 'सर्व गुण अन्वितम्' (सभी गुणों से युक्त) था—अर्थात् जहाँ जल, लकड़ी, कुश, सौंदर्य और एकांत सब उपलब्ध थे। यह श्लोक भक्त और भगवान के बीच के प्रेमपूर्ण आदान-प्रदान को दर्शाता है।
