कदा हि अहम् समेष्यामि भरतेन महात्मना ।
शत्रुघ्नेन च वीरेण त्वया च रघुनंदन ॥ ॥३-१६-४०॥
kadā hi aham sameṣyāmi bharatena mahātmanā |
śatrughnena ca vīreṇa tvayā ca raghunandana ॥3-16-40॥
Translation
O delighter of the Raghus (Lakshmana)! When indeed shall I be reunited with the high-souled Bharata, the brave Shatrughna, and you (all together)?
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे रघुनंदन (लक्ष्मण)! मैं कब महात्मा भरत, वीर शत्रुघ्न और तुम्हारे साथ (एक साथ) मिलूँगा?
English Commentary
The section concludes with a poignant wish for reunification. Rama asks when he will be with Bharata, Shatrughna, and Lakshmana (tvaya ca). Since Lakshmana is already present, the implication is the collective reunion of the four brothers. This underscores the central theme of the Ramayana: the strength of the fraternal bond. Rama's longing isn't for the throne, but for the restoration of the fractured family unit. The cold winter description thus melts into the warmth of brotherly love.

इस सर्ग का समापन राम की विरह-वेदना और मिलन की आशा के साथ होता है। राम 'त्वया च' (और तुम्हारे साथ) कहते हैं, यद्यपि लक्ष्मण उनके पास ही खड़े हैं। इसका अर्थ है—'हम चारों भाई एक साथ कब होंगे?' यह राम की 'संपूर्णता' की चाह है। राम के लिए सुख का अर्थ अकेले राजा बनना नहीं, बल्कि चारों भाइयों का साथ होना है। यहाँ हेमन्त ऋतु का वर्णन भाइयों की स्मृति और पारिवारिक प्रेम में परिणत हो जाता है।
