Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
आश्रमम् तम् उपागम्य राघवः सह लक्ष्मणः ।
कृत्वा पौर्वाह्णिकम् कर्म पर्णशालाम् उपागमत् ॥ ॥३-१७-२॥
āśramam tam upāgamya rāghavaḥ saha lakṣmaṇaḥ |
kṛtvā paurvāhṇikam karma parṇaśālāram upāgamat ॥3-17-2॥
Translation
Reaching the hermitage, Raghava, along with Lakshmana, performed the morning rituals and then entered the leaf-hut.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आश्रम पहुंचकर राघव (राम) ने लक्ष्मण के साथ मिलकर पूर्वाह्न (दोपहर से पहले) के धार्मिक कृत्य संपन्न किए और फिर पर्णकुटी में प्रवेश किया।
English Commentary
The verse details the discipline of the Aryan life. Paurvahnikam karma refers to the specific religious duties performed in the forenoon, such as tending to the sacred fire. This establishes the sanctity of the ashram. They enter the Parnashala (leaf-hut), which is the domestic space. This establishes a mood of peace and piety immediately before the intrusion of the demonic force.

स्नान के बाद 'पौर्वाह्णिकम् कर्म' (अग्निहोत्र, देव-पूजन आदि) का उल्लेख है। यह दिखाता है कि वन में भी ऋषियों जैसी दिनचर्या का पालन हो रहा है। राम और लक्ष्मण का साथ मिलकर कार्य करना उनकी एकता को दर्शाता है। पर्णकुटी (पर्शाला) में प्रवेश करना एक सुरक्षित वातावरण में जाने का संकेत है, लेकिन विडंबना यह है कि यही सुरक्षा शीघ्र ही भंग होने वाली है।
