तस्याः च अनृजु वृत्तायाः तयोः च हतयोर् अहम् ।
सफेनम् पातुम् इच्छामि रुधिरम् रण मूर्धनि ॥ ॥३-१९-१९॥
Tasyāḥ ca anṛju vṛttāyāḥ tayoḥ ca hatayor aham । Saphenam pātum icchāmi rudhiram raṇa mūrdhani ॥ ॥3-19-19॥
Translation
I wish to drink the foaming blood of that woman of crooked behavior and of those two men, once they are slain in the forefront of battle.

मैं युद्ध के मैदान में मारे गए उन दोनों (राम-लक्ष्मण) का और उस कुटिल स्वभाव वाली स्त्री (सीता) का फेन-युक्त रक्त पीना चाहती हूँ।
English Commentary
Here, Shurpanakha sheds any pretense of civility, revealing her primal Rakshasi nature. The imagery is visceral and gruesome: she desires to drink the saphenam (foaming/frothy) blood of her enemies. The irony is palpable when she calls Sita anriju vrittayah (one of crooked/deceitful conduct), projecting her own deceit onto the innocent Sita. This verse transforms her request from a plea for justice into a demand for savage gratification. It sets the tone for the impending violence—it is not just about defeat, but about consumption and total obliteration of the enemy.
