एष मे प्रथमः कामः कृतः तत्र त्वया भवेत् ।
तस्याः तयोः च रुधिरम् पिबेयम् अहम् आहवे ॥ ॥३-१९-२०॥
Eṣa me prathamaḥ kāmaḥ kṛtaḥ tatra tvayā bhavet । Tasyāḥ tayoḥ ca rudhiram pibeyam aham āhave ॥ ॥3-19-20॥
Translation
Let this first wish of mine be fulfilled by you: that I may drink the blood of her and of those two in battle.

मेरी यह पहली कामना तुम्हारे द्वारा पूर्ण होनी चाहिए कि मैं युद्ध में उस स्त्री और उन दोनों पुरुषों का रक्त पियूँ।
English Commentary
Shurpanakha frames her bloodlust as a formal request or boon (prathamah kamah - first wish) expected of her brother. By reiterating the desire to drink their blood, she emphasizes that this is the only acceptable form of restitution for her disfigurement. She binds Khara to a specific mode of action: open battle (ahave). This is not a request for assassination but for a military conquest where she can triumphantly consume the life force of her enemies. It places the burden of execution squarely on Khara, testing his capability and loyalty.

शूर्पणखा अपनी मांग को 'प्रथमः कामः' (पहली इच्छा) के रूप में प्रस्तुत करती है, जैसे कि यह उसका अधिकार है। वह खर को बाध्य कर रही है कि भाई होने के नाते उसे यह उपहार देना ही होगा। 'आहवे' (युद्ध में) शब्द महत्वपूर्ण है; वह चाहती है कि खर उन्हें युद्ध में मारे, न कि छल से। यह उसकी प्रतिशोध की तीव्रता को दिखाता है। वह खून पीने की बात को दोहराती है, जो यह दर्शाता है कि उसका अपमान इतना गहरा है कि सामान्य मृत्यु से उसे शांति नहीं मिलेगी। यह श्लोक खर पर निर्णय लेने का दबाव डालता है।
