Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
मनोरथो अयम् इष्टो अस्या भगिन्या मम राक्षसाः ।
शीघ्रम् संपद्यताम् गत्वा तौ प्रमथ्य स्व तेजसा ॥ ॥३-१९-२४॥
Manoratho ayam iṣṭo asyā bhaginyā mama rākṣasāḥ । Śīghram saṃpadyatām gatvā tau pramathya sva tejasā ॥ ॥3-19-24॥
Translation
O Rakshasas, this is the cherished wish of my sister. Go quickly and fulfill it by crushing them with your own power.

हे राक्षसों! मेरी इस बहन का यह प्रिय मनोरथ है। वहाँ जाकर अपने तेज (बल) से उन दोनों को कुचलकर इसे शीघ्र पूरा करो।
English Commentary
Khara frames the violence as a fulfillment of a family obligation, specifically his sister's ishta manoratha (cherished desire). The choice of the word pramathya (churning/crushing) implies a brutal, overwhelming physical force, suggesting he wants the humans not just killed, but obliterated. By urging them to use sva tejasā (their own energy/splendor), he expresses confidence in their martial prowess. The emphasis on shighram (quickly) indicates Khara's impatience and his underestimation of the opposition—he expects this to be a swift execution rather than a prolonged battle.

खर इस कार्य को अपनी बहन का 'इष्ट मनोरथ' (प्रिय इच्छा) बताता है। एक भाई के रूप में, वह अपनी बहन की इच्छा पूर्ति को अपना कर्तव्य मानता है। 'प्रमथ्य' शब्द का अर्थ है 'मन्थन करना' या 'बुरी तरह कुचल देना', जो हिंसा की तीव्रता को दर्शाता है। वह राक्षसों को 'स्व तेजसा' (अपने स्वयं के बल/तेज से) लड़ने को कहता है, जो उनके आत्मविश्वास को बढ़ाने का प्रयास है। खर को तनिक भी संदेह नहीं है कि उसके चौदह महाबली राक्षस दो मानवों को हराने में सक्षम नहीं होंगे। यह आदेश तत्परता (शीघ्रम्) पर जोर देता है।
