निपातितान् प्रेक्ष्य रणे तु राक्षसान् प्रधाविता शूर्पणखा पुनः ततः ।
वधम् च तेषाम् निखिलेन रक्षसाम् शशंस सर्वम् भगिनी खरस्य सा ॥ ॥३-२०-२५॥
nipātitān prekṣya raṇe tu rākṣasān pradhāvitā śūrpaṇakhā punaḥ tataḥ |
vadham ca teṣām nikhilena rakṣasām śaśaṃsa sarvam bhaginī kharasya sā ॥3-20-25॥
Translation
Seeing the demons struck down in battle, Shurpanakha ran from there again. That sister of Khara then reported the entire slaughter of all those demons to him.
हिंदी अनुवाद
रणभूमि में उन राक्षसों को गिरा हुआ (मरा हुआ) देखकर, शूर्पणखा वहाँ से पुनः (खर के पास) दौड़ी। खर की उस बहन ने उन समस्त राक्षसों के वध का पूरा वृत्तांत (खर को) कह सुनाया।
English Commentary
This concluding verse of the sequence acts as a bridge to the next phase of the conflict. Having witnessed the annihilation of the squad she requested, Shurpanakha rushes back (pradhāvitā) in panic. The text emphasizes that she reported the vadham (slaughter) nikhilena (in its entirety/completely). She serves as the messenger of doom, relaying the impossible news that fourteen demon warriors fell to a single human. This report is the catalyst that will draw Khara himself into the battlefield, escalating the war in Dandakaranya.

यह सर्ग का अंतिम श्लोक है जो अगले घटनाक्रम की भूमिका बाँधता है। 'निपातितान्' (गिराए गए) शब्द का प्रयोग राक्षसों की पूर्ण पराजय को सिद्ध करता है। 'प्रधाविता' (तेजी से दौड़ी) उसकी घबराहट को दर्शाता है। 'निखिलेन' (पूर्ण रूप से/विस्तार से) शब्द महत्वपूर्ण है—उसने केवल यह नहीं कहा कि वे मर गए, अपितु यह बताया कि कैसे राम ने अकेले ही उन सबका संहार कर दिया। यह वृत्तांत खर के क्रोध को भड़काने वाला सिद्ध होगा, जिससे आगे का भीषण युद्ध (खर-दूषण वध) आरम्भ होगा।
