ताम् दृष्ट्वा राघवः श्रीमान् आगताम् ताम् च राक्षसीम् ।
अब्रवीत् भ्रातरम् रामो लक्ष्मणम् दीप्त तेजसम् ॥ ॥३-२०-३॥
Tām dṛṣṭvā rāghavaḥ śrīmān āgatām tām ca rākṣasīm । Abravīt bhrātaram rāmo lakṣmaṇam dīpta tejasam ॥ ॥3-20-3॥
Translation
Seeing them (the Rakshasas) and that Rakshasi having arrived, the glorious Rama spoke to his brother Lakshmana, who was of radiant splendor.

उन (राक्षसों) को और उस राक्षसी (शूर्पणखा) को आया हुआ देखकर, श्रीमान राम ने अपने तेजस्वी भाई लक्ष्मण से कहा।
English Commentary
Rama notices the arrival of the threat immediately. The text refers to him as Sriman (glorious/dignified), maintaining his composure. Seeing Shurpanakha returning with backup, he addresses Lakshmana. Lakshmana is described as dipta tejasam (burning with splendor/energy), indicating his readiness for action. Rama’s reaction is not of fear but of tactical command. He turns to his brother to establish a defensive strategy, recognizing that the conflict has escalated from a personal dispute to an armed incursion.
